Crowd Videos

In Dana's post below {Recovering and Remembering} she noted:
"I have never been in a gathering where I felt more in tune with so many people. There is no way to adequately describe the feeling when everybody there broke into American Pie, This Land is Your Land, America, Shower the People, Higher Ground - and on and on."

I remembered that I took a short video during "Shout" that is certainly a glimpse of what she was referring to.
*make sure your volume is turned up*

During President Obama’s speeches at both the Lincoln Memorial Concert and Inauguration Address, applause and cheer would suddenly turn into silence as soon as he spoke and throughout his speeches. A noticeable change in demeanor among spectators turned from raucous celebration to reverent silence.
.
It was noted in the post about the concert that it seemed a bit "surreal". That is an accurate description but most shocking is understanding that thousands and even millions of people are so captivated by and respectful of his words. This video was taken just before he began his Inauguration speech...you can "hear" the silence but imagine over one million people becoming immediately silent!
